Real Estate Investment Associations (REIAs) are worth knowing about if you're not already. These are monthly meetups for home flippers, multifamily owners, and real estate investors to swap wins, losses, and insights — often with a guest speaker. Entry is usually low-cost or even free, sometimes with a "bring a friend" option.
For specialists — garage doors, handrails, doors and windows, painting, demo, whatever your niche — these meetings are a real opportunity. General contractors and flippers attending are often actively looking for reliable subs to hand off the work they don't want to manage themselves. It's as simple as showing up and letting people know you're available for the jobs they need done. Most mid-size to large cities have a REIA chapter (smaller cities may not) — a quick Facebook search for "REIA" plus your city should turn one up. If you've been to one, it'd be great to hear how it went, and whether there are other similar associations worth contractors knowing about.
